Luckhurst is the home of Alice Instone's studio and an evolving place for making, gathering and imagining. Set among gardens, orchards and old buildings in the Kent countryside, it has become an extension of the work itself.
Rather than separating art from everyday life, Luckhurst brings them together. Home to an evolving body of work that moves between painting, sculpture, film, games and shared experiences. Here, visitors might discover an oracle in the garden, a meal beneath the trees, a game played together, or a painting still wet in the studio. Each gathering is different, shaped by the place, the people and the time of year.
Luckhurst is not a museum or a gallery. It is a working place where ideas are made, tested and shared, a place where artworks are experienced rather than simply viewed. It is where many of Alice's ideas are first tested, and where new projects continue to grow.
Exhibitions, gatherings and seasonal events take place throughout the year by invitation.
